COMMUNITY SERVICE INITIATIVE
Phase 1 : Planning
Week 1
Week 1, there is a project briefing for every student. Our task is to help the Orang Asli to renovate a mini library. There is a total of 6 groups and the different task was given. Students were asked to choose their group themself after the briefing. I chose Group 5 for the assignment and the task is to Learning Aids Making Group. The group members needed is total 16 and there are 4 subjects -English, Maths, Science, and Arts.
Week 2
Our group leader created a group for the 16 people. There are four subjects needed for the fun-learning, including English, Maths, Science, and Arts.
Each group required a minimum of 3 people to take part. I take part in the Science subject.
Week 3
For week 3, we started to plan on what subject or what topic we should make for the children they are between 4-6 years old. As there are 3 people in our Science team, so each of us is coming out with own ideas. We met up at the campus after class and discuss the topics. We stayed on campus from 3pm to 5pm and finally finalized our ideas. We decided the topics that are the best for the small kids.

Week 4
So, the presentation week is placed in week 4 (26/4/2019). Before the presentation, we meet up at 10 for final discussion and practice. The presentation starts at 12.
Week 5
On 5/5/2019, we start to discuss the topics after taking some suggestions from the lecturer. We met up at campus before for discussion as we do not have class on that day. We discuss from 10 am -1 pm and finally come out with some ideas.
On 7/5/2019, we met Ms Norji to discuss about our ideas. She mentioned a few things that we need to be aware of and gave us some suggestions to improve our ideas. .
Week 6
On 9/5, we finally finalized our ideas. We are making a puzzle human anatomy, 5 senses, and a weather wheel.
On 10/5, we discuss about the material of our thing. We thought of using wood and laser cut it. After laser cut, we will be painting it.
On 11/5, we start to think about how to arrange the boards on the huge wall. We have three topics in total. So we decided to have 3 A1 boards. The first board will be the human anatomy, followed by the 5 senses and weather wheel.
Week 7
On 14/5, we started to make our boards. This is the puzzle board. However, we couldn't able to finish it on that day as there are some problems with our files.
Week 9
On 24/5, we continue our laser cutting.
Week 11
On 10/6 we continue with the leftover laser cutting and we started to color our boards. The method of us coloring the boards is mixing the poster color with the white glue. It gives the acrylic paint texture.
On 11/6 we continue with the colouring.
On 12/6, we start to place our colored board onto their backing! We using the grey board for the backing.
Phase 2 : Transformation
15/6, finally is D-Day. So, we bring our works and head towards the site! After the painting group done their painting, we started to screw our boards onto the wall.
